Evaluate the effect of changes within and between the natural and social sciences

Part 1- Morals/Values Stance Paper: One should carefully evaluate moral and ethical issues related to human-environment interaction (III.1). By the end of the course, each student should be able to define and clearly articulate their own stance (III.2). Additionally, the student should be able to describe the changes he/she has made (or will make) in his/her own life to reconcile the disconnect between our own values and morals and our behaviors (III.3). This course satisfies the Liberal Studies requirement for Natural World Stewardship (NWS) by meeting all three of the following learning outcomes that will enable students to: I. Understand the natural and social sciences and their dynamic interactions. 1. Define key concepts and theories of the natural and social sciences

. 2. Evaluate the effect of changes within and between the natural and social sciences. II. Locate, evaluate, and use data to make informed decisions. 1. Find and evaluate information. 2. Apply qualitative and/or quantitative methods to logically solve problems. 3. Analyze data. 4. Draw conclusions using the scientific method. III. Demonstrate ethical and responsible choices to protect and improve the world for the future. 1. Analyze the relevant ethical perspectives and debates regarding the roles of humankind in the natural world and its future. 2. Develop a personal morals/values stance to live with integrity in the natural and social world. 3. Do something to make the world a better place
